CHOTORYUSHOKO Corp.
/ Our Story

CHOTORYU SHOKO is a famous trademark in Taiwan during Japanese Rule Period. Chang, Tung-Ching, the second child of the Chang family, started his business by selling agricultural products in Yongle town (Dihua St. nowadays), laying the foundation of CHOTORYU's commercial networks. In 1903, Chang, Tung-Ching founded the CHOTORYU SHOKO with his brothers Chang, Tung-Hung, Chang, Tung-Jung and Chang, Tung-Hua.

In the early stage, selling food was CHOTORYU's main business. As the business grew, they extended their business from Taipei to other regions of Taiwan and developed international trade. On the top time of CHOTORYU's business, they trade volatile oil, motor oil, sugar, flour, sulfur, and automobile with Japan and America.

After years of hard work, in 1930, the Chang family built a four-story western-style building as their headquarter in Taiping town (Yanping N. Rd. nowadays). After the 21st century, CHOTORYU SHOKO was reorganized and its name was altered to CHOTORYUSHOKO Co.. Even with the name changed, the company’s philosophy ”Customer first, small profits and quick returns” remains unchanged.
